Inflection Space Systems is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to own spacecraft structures, mechanisms, ground support equipment, and mechanical integration. This full-time, onsite role is based at Inflection's HQ in Los Angeles, CA.

You will design structures and packaging, create CAD models, manage vendors, and lead prototype builds with environmental testing. Join a hands-on team driving the industrialization of space.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience delivering complex hardware.
• Experience with CAD, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with spacecraft structures, mechanisms, packaging.
• Hands-on assembly and testing from design through qualification and delivery of flight-ready hardware.
• Willingness to get hands-on and learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Own spacecraft structures, mechanisms, and mechanical integration from requirements through flight hardware fabrication and test.
• Design spacecraft structures, mechanisms, and component packaging; create CAD models, drawings, and tolerance analyses.
• Manage vendors and subcontractors.
• Lead prototype builds, mechanical assembly integration, and environmental testing; diagnose and resolve hardware anomalies as they arise.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes to reduce cost and simplify assembly.
• Design for reliable, repeatable production.
