Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space, based in Colorado, seeks a Mechanical Engineer for the FBM Life Extension 2 project. You will design and develop structural components, manage composites hardware, and drive test results through reviews, flight tests, and production.

The role requires experience in CAD, composites, and cross-functional collaboration, with Top Secret eligibility and a flexible, fast-moving mindset for program milestones.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineer with design, manufacturing or production experience.
• Proficient in CAD; familiarity with composites required.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• Self-motivated with proactive problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop test plans with appropriate IPT.
• Lead effort with subcontracts to identify potential suppliers for needed hardware and materials.
• Provide technical inputs in data products, proposals, and TI meetings.
• Execute in a fast-paced environment.
• Create and communicate at program reviews and meetings.
• Effectively communicate to leadership levels, including Navy counterparts.
