Job summary

Construction Innovations is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop, analyze, validate, and improve mechanical designs for high-performance products at our CA facilities. You will work with manufacturing, customers, and vendors to drive continuous improvement through design standardization and engineering changes.

The role requires 10+ years in 3D CAD modeling with SolidWorks or Inventor and 6+ years in solar design.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
4+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience with SolidWorks/Inventor.
Understanding of design drawings and shop drawings.
Knowledge of design for manufacturing concepts.
Engineer-In-Training or Professional Engineer license preferred.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Knowledge of utility or commercial-scale solar design is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review project scope and design specs and participate in design kickoff meetings.
Create detailed 2D & 3D mechanical designs from internal/external drawings and product requirements.
Coordinate with manufacturing regarding capabilities and best practices.
Develop and maintain design tasks and schedules; implement Engineering Change processes.
Lead and execute large design projects with minimal supervision.
Validate designs with calculations, FEA tools, and industry standards.
