Job summary

Advantest America Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design and testing of hardware sub-systems for semiconductor equipment.

You will develop detailed designs, drawings, BOMs, and test protocols while collaborating with manufacturing, QA, and external partners. Ideal candidates have 6–10+ years in high-tech environments, strong SolidWorks and GD&T skills, and experience with thermal management and CFD/FEA checks.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 6–10+ years of experience in a high-technology environment.
• Experience with cross-functional teams building complex electro-mechanical systems.
• SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD used for detail and assembly drawings.
• ASME-Y14.5M GD&T standards for drawings.
• CAD-based FEA to optimize parts against structural requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design new or modify electro-mechanical assemblies to meet customer requirements.
• Prepare detail drawings, BOMs, and assembly drawings for production.
• Identify risks and optimization opportunities in designs.
• Develop test specifications and evaluation protocols.
• Conduct electro-mechanical testing and qualify assemblies.
• Interpret test results and present to senior staff, vendors, and customers.
• Implement design changes from testing and verification reviews.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and QA to define specifications and vendor selection.
• Work with external partners to achieve common design and production goals.
