Job summary

ASM is hiring in Arizona for a Global Common Engineering role focused on designing mechanical hardware for advanced semiconductor process chambers. You will develop for ALD, PE-ALD, and Epitaxy applications, creating robust 3D models and drawings, and collaborating across R&D and manufacturing to push designs into high-volume production.

The role requires a Master’s in mechanical engineering and 2+ years of Creo-based design experience, with familiarity in GD&T, lab environments, and fabrication

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or higher.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience with 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Comfortable working in lab and cleanroom environments.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and products for ASM process chambers using solid engineering principles.
• Interpret and design to gas, water and pneumatic schematics.
• Drive data-based design decisions in cross-functional teams.
• Lead hardware development from concept through testing and high-volume manufacturing readiness.
• Create and manage 3D CAD models (Creo) and 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analyses.
• Maintain product configuration using PLM tools.
• Participate in design reviews and drive DFx activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve fabrication challenges.
• Prepare documentation for manufacturing and testing.
• Support cost estimation for new features and enhancements.
