CHAOS Industries seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design and productization of passive RF geolocation sensors for our electromagnetic warfare product line. You will lead enclosure, mounting, and environmental challenges to deliver rugged, producible hardware ready for production.

On-site in Washington, DC, you will collaborate with RF, electrical, and software engineers, drive DFM/DFA, and shepherd hardware from prototype through production while meeting MIL-STD-810 and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years designing electronics enclosures or electromechanical systems for harsh environments.
• Experience taking hardware from prototype to production release.
• Strong CAD skills and GD&T knowledge.
• Thermal management and outdoor/sealed enclosure experience.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, IP ratings, and MIL-DTL connectors.

Responsabilités

• Own mechanical architecture and detailed design of the sensor node.
• Design fixed-site and ground-vehicle mounting solutions with quick-deploy features.
• Lead thermal design for sealed outdoor electronics and evaluate cooling options.
• Ensure environmental robustness per MIL-STD-810 and customer specs.
• Collaborate with RF, electrical, and software engineers for integration.
• Perform hand calculations and basic FEA to drive decisions.
• Drive cost and part count reductions with DFA/DFM principles.
• Create production-quality CAD models, drawings with GD&T, and ICDs.
• Prototype with additive manufacturing, CNC, sheet metal; iterate with tests.
• Plan environmental qualification testing and fixture design.
• Support make/buy decisions and supplier selection.
• Assist field demos and customer integrations; travel up to 25%.
