Job summary

Maxwell Bond is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a robotics company developing an automotive automation platform. You will own the design of complex robotic subsystems, including mechanical architecture, multi-axis actuation, and dynamic mechanisms.

The role involves solving challenging problems through simulation, testing, and prototyping, while helping set engineering standards and guiding the wider mechanical team in a true start-up environment with significant autonomy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing electro-mechanical or mechatronic systems from concept through production.
• Experience specifying actuator-driven systems, motors, gear trains, encoders, load cells, proximity sensors.
• Strong analysis across dynamics, modelling, vibration, kinematics, load calculations, FEA, GD&T, and production-ready docs.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of complex robotic subsystems from concept through production.
• Define mechanical architecture, multi-axis actuation, and dynamic mechanisms.
• Use simulation, testing, and prototyping to validate designs.
• Help set engineering standards and guide the mechanical team.
