Job summary

Acorn Product Development, Inc. is seeking a senior mechanical engineer for our Waltham, MA office.

The role requires 8+ years of design and engineering analysis experience with a BSME or equivalent, and a track record of transitioning electromechanical products from concept to production. You will mentor engineers, lead multiple projects, and work with clients to define requirements while collaborating with ID/UX/UI teams to refine designs.

Qualifications

8+ years design/engineering analysis with a BSME or equivalent
Experience transitioning complex electromechanical products to production
Hands-on project management with interdisciplinary teams
Experience designing molded, sheet metal and machined components
Proficient with SolidWorks; Creo a plus; ASME Y14.5 documentation

Responsibilities

Broaden technical knowledge and leadership across projects.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Support development and maintenance of project plans and proposals.
Work with clients to identify requirements; define and develop product solutions.
Collaborate with ID/UX/UI teams to refine product designs.
Identify and perform mechanical engineering analyses.
Create detailed designs/documentation to meet objectives.
Interface with vendors for prototyping, tooling and production.
Test and evaluate prototypes and first articles.
Create project and technical reports as required.
