Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Orlando, FL to lead design and analysis of mobile robotic systems for pipe inspection and repair. You will develop mechanical concepts, create SolidWorks models, and collaborate with electrical, firmware, software, and labs teams to drive robust electromechanical solutions.

You will guide DFMEA/PFMEA, support manufacturing, and mentor junior engineers while delivering on stage-gate milestones and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically in robotics/automation/cameras.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3D modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for cameras, transporters, lifts, and other devices.
• Conduct detailed analysis, simulations, and calculations to optimize performance and durability.
• Collaborate with product management, electrical and firmware engineering to define requirements.
• Create 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop non-routine test methods and procedures beyond standard codes.
• Analyze test data and modify designs to meet safety requirements.
• Maintain project schedules and coordinate design specifications across teams.
