Job summary

Robust AI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a fast-growing startup in San Diego. You will design and deploy the next generation of warehouse robotic systems, working with a small team to conceptualize, build, and test subsystems of our robot, with a strong emphasis on hands-on development and rapid iteration.

The role requires 5+ years of industry experience, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design.
• Experience with robotics or mechatronics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the next generation design of our robot.
• Design and manage components across the HW lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, production).
• Collaborate with industrial design, electrical, product and software teams.
• Propose and resolve issues with current robot systems within budget.
• Rapidly iterate on design by building quick prototypes.
• Design and execute test plans for your designs.
