Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Strategic Projects team. You will contribute to the lifecycle of automated systems, from concept to commercialization, focusing on complex structural designs for mobile robots.

Responsibilities include analysis (FEA), design optimization, and collaboration across hardware, software, and manufacturing teams. Travel up to 20% is required and you will iterate prototypes and maintain clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design and electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex structural systems for mobile robots.
• Perform analysis including FEA and tolerance analysis to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, controls, manufacturing and quality teams.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and drive continuous improvement.
• Create and manage BOMs, ECOs, and drawings per ANSI Y14.5 with GD&T.
• Travel up to 20%.
