Job summary

Teledyne Microwave Solutions in Mountain View, CA is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to design RF/MIC modules and assemblies. You will perform stress analysis, develop tolerances, and collaborate with electrical and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, producible designs.

The role requires a 15+ year background in mechanical design, SolidWorks proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a demanding, mission-critical environment. A US security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 15+ years of related experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and strong CAD design skills.
• Experience with FEA modeling and mechanical stress analysis (advantage).
• Knowledge of aluminum, molybdenum, Kovar, and ceramics (advantage).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.
• U.S. citizen and able to obtain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for RF MIC modules and subsystems.
• Perform engineering calculations, stress analysis, and tolerance modeling to ensure mechanical robustness.
• Collaborate with electrical, process, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration.
• Create detailed documentation, BOMs, and routings in ERP/PDM systems.
• Lead product testing, develop test methods, and prepare validation reports.
• Evaluate design alternatives based on cost, quality, and production feasibility.
• Use SolidWorks CAD software for design and modeling.
• Support continuous improvement and design best practices.
