Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the applicable state.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering management and design experience for commercial buildings (aviation, higher ed, healthcare, hospitality, or government facilities preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, codes, and construction toward project delivery.
• Experience with design-build, fast-track, and related delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Determine project scope and create mechanical designs for HVAC and other systems.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure financial targets and quality standards.
• Define scope, budgets, cost estimates, and schedules; write proposals.
• Develop work plans and oversee the design process.
• Liaise with clients and staff to identify scope changes and milestones.
• Manage scope variances to keep projects on track and satisfy clients.
• Respond to RFIs and review submittals.
• Manage project correspondence and documents in DMS.
• Conduct engineering studies and verify code compliance.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and PMs.
• Prepare BIM drawings and coordinate with disciplines through all phases.
• Perform construction administration tasks: site observations, shop drawings, punch lists.
• Maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and code officials.
• Assist in proposals and client presentations.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
