Job summary

Fike Corporation, based in Blue Springs, MO, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to lead or contribute to design efforts for pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment. Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related) with 5 years post-degree experience, or a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 8 years.

CAD knowledge and familiarity with ASME/NASA/industry standards are preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) and five years related post degree experience, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related discipline) and eight years related post degree experience.
• Preferred: PE (Registered Professional Engineer) Master's degree; Knowledge of CAD; Experience with ASME Section VIII and applicable military standards; Background in fluid flow, metallurgy, or stress analysis using finite element methods.

Responsibilities

• Leads or participates as part of a project team.
• Develops and maintains project schedule and ensures on-time completion.
• Ensures compliance with ISO-9001; documents test results and conducts design reviews.
• Confers with Sales, Marketing, Production and Quality to resolve problems.
• Creates test procedures and performs experiments to determine engineering parameters.
• Prepares design modifications and coordinates with approval agencies.
