Job summary

Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to provide advanced engineering support for complex power generation systems. You will own assigned systems, deliver in-depth technical analysis, support large projects, and lead troubleshooting for emergent plant issues to improve reliability and efficiency.

You will work with familiarity of operating modes, maintenance strategies, and failure modes while ensuring compliance with codes and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering is required.
• Minimum of two years of engineering experience (Master’s may count for up to two years).
• Understanding of engineering codes, regulations, and discipline-specific standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to varying audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned systems and equipment and deliver in-depth technical analysis.
