Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Raleigh team to lead mechanical building systems design across complex projects. You will work directly with clients to define design criteria and deliver technically sound, sustainable solutions while mentoring junior engineers.

The position emphasizes leadership without removing hands-on engineering; you will review calculations, select equipment, and ensure codes and standards compliance. Hybrid schedule offered after training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong background designing HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial or institutional buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mechanical/HVAC systems for complex building projects.
• Perform and review engineering calculations and equipment selections.
• Develop mechanical system concepts based on client requirements and budgets.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
• Prepare project proposals and participate in client presentations.
