Job summary

gpac is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its San Antonio office to lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design on data center, healthcare, higher education, and institutional projects from concept through construction administration.

You'll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with electrical and structural disciplines, and review shop drawings. A PE license or Texas licensure by comity is required, with 8+ years of experience and proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and energy codes.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• An active PE license, or the ability to get Texas licensure by comity
• 8+ years of building MEP design experience at a consulting engineering firm
• Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE standards, IMC/IPC, and energy codes
• Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and load software such as Trace 3D Plus or HAP
• LEED AP or healthcare experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, and energy analysis
• Produce and stamp construction documents, specifications, and calculations
• Act as the main mechanical point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors

• Make site visits and handle construction administration

An established MEP consulting engineering firm in San Antonio is adding a Senior Mechanical Engineer to its building systems team. You'll lead HVAC and plumbing design on data center, telecommunication center, commercial, healthcare, higher education, and institutional projects from concept through construction administration, and you'll mentor junior engineers along the way.
