Job summary

Molex is seeking an innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team focused on fiber optic interconnect solutions for cloud, AI, and hyperscale markets. Lead product development from concept to industrialization, drive simulations and testing, and ensure DFMA-friendly designs in coordination with manufacturing and patent teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in NPD, strong experience with NX/Creo/SolidWorks, GD&T, and FEA, and a demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of technical experience in new product development.
• Strong proficiency with NX, Creo or SolidWorks and GD&T.
• Experience with multiple manufacturing techniques (injection molding, sheet metal, machining, extrusion).
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Experience defining, executing, and interpreting test plans and reports.
• Ability to learn quickly and make data-based decisions in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product design from Concept through Design, Development, Testing, and Industrialization.
• Conduct simulations, prototyping and testing to meet performance/reliability goals.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are cost-competitive and DFMA-friendly.
• Work with patent attorneys to draft/review patent applications for technical accuracy.
• Interface with product, project management, manufacturing, procurement and quality teams.
• Gain understanding of fiber optic products and test methods for development projects.
