Job summary

Volant Partners in the greater Seattle area is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help clients develop and deploy products. You will lead product validation, manage changes, and design electromechanical systems, collaborating across disciplines and with client leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical engineering, has 6+ years of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
• 6+ years of engineering or consulting experience.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentations) with client multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven mechanical engineering and problem-solving skills in an integrated team environment.
• Experience with PTC WF4 or CREO for 3D CAD modeling.
• Ability to make decisions and execute to plan.
• Onsite availability at client facilities as needed.
• US Person status: citizen, permanent resident, or eligible refugee/asylum seeker.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally to create, release, and support products.
• Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
• Lead product validation and qualification testing.
• Manage the design of electromechanical systems to meet requirements.
• Analyze, optimize, build, test, and refine new products and sustaining solutions.
• Lead prototyping, manufacturing processes, materials, post-processes, coatings and finishes.
• Utilize CREO/Windchill to create and modify 3D models and drawings.
• Conduct failure analysis.
• Lead and mentor other engineers.
