Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and analyses of AP1000 and AP300 power plants. The role is hybrid, located at Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC, with on-site presence two days per week.

You will report to the Engineering Manager of AP1000 HVAC and BOP Fluid Systems and guide cross-functional teams through complex design challenges, ensuring compliance with NRC/DOE/ASME standards and project schedules.

Competenze

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred) or related field with component design experience.
• Mechanical PE license.
• Significant experience with nuclear, fossil and/or cogeneration power plant turbine island systems and equipment and designs (preferred).
• Experience in turbine island system and component level design and integration.
• Significant experience in a technical leadership role, leading a technical team in design and resolution of complex technical issues.
• 8+ years of experience required or 6 with an advanced degree (10+ years preferred).

Mansioni

• Work with other component, system, and manufacturing leads on integration of turbine generator and related subsystems.
• Develop plans for functional and qualification testing with the testing organization.
• Develop project schedules with project managers and subsystem leads.
• Lead complex technical projects coordinating diverse teams to meet schedule and budget requirements.
• Identify and define technical issues, risks and challenges and direct efforts to resolution.
• Apply engineering rigor to resolve problems with discipline-specific expertise.
• Incorporate industry codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to turbine island and interfaces.
• Provide technical guidance and collaborate with partners, national laboratories, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers.
