Job summary

Global Laser Enrichment LLC seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Wilmington, NC to provide technical leadership for mechanical systems supporting the first-of-a-kind uranium enrichment program. You will own assigned systems from concept through fabrication, assembly, testing and commissioning, translating requirements into engineered solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of mechanical design and product development experience, including leadership of complex programs.
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals and analysis.
Experience with structural, stress, thermal analyses and FEA.
Proficiency with 3D CAD and manufacturing drawings, and knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
Ability to obtain and maintain NRC Q-clearance and nuclear site access.

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical concepts and design solutions based on system requirements.
Coordinate CAD models, drawings, and design documentation with designers and engineers.
Lead design reviews and resolve technical risks and design issues.
Support procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Evaluate test results and apply lessons learned to design improvements.
Collaborate with process, systems, test, manufacturing, electrical, and controls teams.
Provide technical mentoring to engineers and designers.
