Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 4 in PREPY/SNVY to develop, validate, and improve standard Navy valve designs used in naval nuclear propulsion plants. You will lead design and life-cycle improvements, qualify new valves, and address in-service valve issues while coordinating with customers and vendors.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and senior-level experience, with relocation assistance available and a 1st shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 9+ years of relevant exempt experience.
• U.S. Citizenship may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Standard Navy valve drawings and manuals.
• Provide engineering analyses and design studies on valve systems.
• Provide Fleet, Shipyard and Navy Supply System support.
• Prepare technical ordering documentation and related work.
• Collaborate with vendors and NAVSEA 08.
