Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, part of HII, is seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer 4 for our 1st shift. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing advanced electrical systems that support naval propulsion and power distribution.

You will lead engineering activities, collaborate with diverse teams, and drive testing and validation to meet industry standards. Relocation assistance is available for this full-time position in Newport News, Virginia.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience.
Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience.
Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities

Design and develop complex electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and electrical infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements and deliverables.
Develop and implement testing and validation procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues, using advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
