GAS Energy Staffing LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, refine, and validate mud pumps and related equipment in Houston, TX. You will lead mechanical design efforts, perform analyses, and contribute to safe, efficient, and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in machine/mechanical systems development.
• 3+ years with mud pumps or related equipment.
• CAD proficiency and FEA experience.
• Ability to read P&ID, electrical/hydraulic schematics.
• Experience in ISO/API Q1 manufacturing environments is a plus.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mud Pump to contribute to the design, development, and refinement of mud pumps, positive displacement pumps, frac pumps, and related equipment, driving innovation while ensuring the safety and efficiency of mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine design and a passion for developing innovative solutions.

Job Description

• Provide engineering expertise and support for mechanical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Conceptualize innovative mechanical design solutions, considering safety, efficiency, and industry standards
• Perform stress analysis on mechanical components and systems to ensure their integrity and durability
• Produce detailed design layouts and drawings, adhering to engineering standards and best practices
• Conduct tolerance studies and review design documentation to maintain high-quality standards
• Research and specify purchased component parts, ensuring compatibility and cost-effectiveness
• Design and implement test plans for components and systems, validating their performance and functionality
• Generate comprehensive engineering reports, documenting design processes, analyses, and outcomes
• Stay updated with the latest hardware and software technologies to enhance our equipment offerings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to participate in the initial equipment conceptualization, development, and specification

Skills Required

• Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in the development of machine and mechanical systems
• 3+ years of design experience with mud pump, positive displacement pumps, frac pumps, or related equipment design experience
• Proficiency in CAD software (Creo, Inventor, or SolidWorks) and FEA tools (Ansys or SolidWorks Simulation)
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID, electrical, and hydraulic schematics
• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, welding, or related hobbies is highly preferred
• Knowledge and experience working in an ISO or API Q1 certified manufacturing facility is an asset
• Familiarity with industry specifications such as API 6A, 7K, and 8C is desirable
• Experience with hydraulic systems and their design and implementation is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on machine design

Additional Requirements

• Travel:
  • Minimal travel required
  • International travel to India may be required once every 2-3 years
  • Domestic travel may be required once a year
• Shift Hours:
  • 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, with flexibility to start earlier
  • Hybrid work: 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home
  • Remote work only after the individual is fully trained and able to work independently

Pay Rate/Salary

• $110,000.00-$118,000.00 per annum. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors
