Job summary

Cindavi in Hamel, MN is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own machine-level design of electro-mechanical actuation and power transmission. You will work hands-on, solve complex problems, and collaborate with customers to take designs from concept through production.

You will design precision-machined assemblies, apply CAD/FEA tools, define tolerances, and work with manufacturing, applications, and program teams in a high-mix environment serving industrial and defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience with ownership mindset.
• Proven success designing precision-machined assemblies and power-transmission systems.
• Strong knowledge of bearings, shafts, gearing, motors, drives, and linear motion components.
• Experience with CAD and engineering analysis tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS); good FEA and tolerance analysis.
• Excellent communication to collaborate across functions and present to customers.
• Independent yet collaborative, proactive and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Lead product and system-level design efforts for electro-mechanical actuation and power transmission solutions.
• Create robust, manufacturable machine designs involving precision-machined components, bearings, gearing, motors, drives, sensors, and linear-motion systems.
• Define requirements, develop detailed mechanical layouts, build FEA models, and establish tolerance schemes that balance performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Partner with manufacturing, applications, product, and program teams to move designs from concept through production.
• Engage directly with customer engineers and program leaders in design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-solving.
• Bring thoughtful trade-off analysis, creative solutions, and lessons learned to support product roadmaps and future opportunities.
