Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer at our Elkton, Maryland site to lead the mechanical design of actuation and motion control hardware within the PS&C unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or higher required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience leading mechanical design for complex electro‑mechanical systems.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for mechanical design and development of actuators, mechanisms, and motion control hardware through production.
• Define mechanical scope, work packages, and milestones with cross‑functional teams.
• Coordinate MCAD/ECAD integration and ensure producibility.
• Lead risk management activities including FMECA and RCCA.
• Monitor cost, schedule, and progress; support proposals and long‑range planning.
