Job summary

Allmand, a Generac Company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to drive new product development and sustaining engineering for mobile light towers and indirect-fired heaters. This hands-on role emphasizes 3D CAD proficiency and cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead complex projects from concept to release, collaborating with engineering, operations, manufacturing, materials, and purchasing to deliver manufacturable, cost-effective solutions. Travel is < 10%.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Experience creating and modifying complex 3D models and 2D drawing sets in CAD software (SolidWorks or Creo).
• Experience leading or contributing to a major mechanical engineering project.
• Ability to work across engineering, operations, manufacturing, materials and purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Lead or significantly contribute to new product development and mechanical improvements for mobile light towers and heaters.
• Develop and release 3D models, assemblies, and drawings from concept through production.
• Manage projects, coordinating requirements, deliverables, and timelines.
• Implement Engineering Change Orders and drive sustaining engineering.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with production, assembly and warehouse to improve manufacturability.
• Mentor junior engineers and adapt to changing priorities.
