Qualifications

JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  1. Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  2. Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  3. Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  4. Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for projects.
  5. Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  6. Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  7. Assists in developing sequencing requirements and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
  8. Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  9. Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications are met and work is completed in a timely, quality manner.
  10. Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  11. Supports the commissioning process, including developing checklists and testing procedures.
  12. Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding and implementing JE Dunn's non-discrimination policies.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Performs more complex mechanical, electrical, and construction activities.
  2. Develops and reviews estimates, analyzes systems, and recommends best options, including value engineering.
  3. Coordinates scopes of work and develops sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  4. Reviews design documents, develops quality control programs, and performs inspections.
  5. Develops and verifies functional testing procedures and commissioning documentation.
  6. Mentors less experienced team members and creates innovative tools and solutions.
  7. Continues to promote diversity and inclusion policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction management methods.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required), or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
