Job summary

SirenOpt, Inc. is seeking a Senior/Staff Mechanical Engineer to help deliver a sensing and software platform for high-volume thin film manufacturing lines.

You will lead mechanical design and validation for a low-temperature plasma-based metrology sensor, working with a small cross-functional team to integrate into larger systems. The role emphasizes rapid prototyping, supplier engagement, and documentation, with opportunities to influence product launch and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of industry experience.
• Experience leading independent mechanical design projects for products integrated into larger systems.
• Design of motion control mechanisms; ability to constrain parts, define datums, and perform tolerance analysis using GD&T.
• Proficiency with CAD/PDM tools and rapid prototyping methods.
• Experience with prototypes, supplier engagement, and design for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and validation of a low-temperature plasma-based metrology sensor platform.
• Interface with a cross-functional team to research, develop, and validate new concepts.
• Perform fundamental studies to characterize sensor and platform performance.
• Collaborate with clients to iterate on design based on feedback and integration speed.
• Create and maintain technical design documentation including requirements and test reports.
