Job summary

Progress Rail Engineer - Taylor Mill KY is responsible for developing current and future engineering designs, integrating product design through CAD/CAE, 3D modeling, and testing to meet requirements.

Role involves collaboration with engineering functions as programs develop and move into production, providing guidance to designers, and supporting manufacturing and field service for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or an equivalent combination of formal education and direct work experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAE and 3D modeling for product design and validation.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction to designers and drafters in the creation and modification of engineering drawings and models.
• Supports production by diagnosing and solving problems with materials and processes to maintain or improve quality.
• Leads design reviews for assigned systems and participates in reviews for other systems; works with vendors and suppliers to specify new components and select appropriate components for designs.
• Collaborates with engineers of other disciplines to integrate components into higher-level machine designs; supports operations and service organizations in implementing and maintaining product.
