Job summary

Plan B Climatech in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design on diverse projects and collaborate closely with architects, electrical and plumbing engineers, and interior designers.

The role requires 8–15 years of consulting MEP experience, strong Revit skills, and a track record of interfacing with clients. Hybrid work in Midtown Manhattan is offered along with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• 8–15 years of consulting MEP design experience.
• Experience with NYC projects and DOB processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design from concept through construction documents: load calcs, equipment selection, air and water systems, controls sequences and specifications.
• Run mechanical scope, fee and schedule on projects; be the day-to-day technical contact for clients.
• Coordinate with architecture, electrical, plumbing and fire protection in Revit.
• Mentor and QC junior engineers and designers.
• Handle construction administration: submittals, RFIs, site visits and punch lists.
• Design to NYC Mechanical Code, ASHRAE 62.1/90.1, NYC Energy Code and Local Law 97.
