Job summary

Ergotron, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of mechanical components and systems for new and existing products.

You will partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to address technical issues with robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions. The role requires hands-on engineering capability, strong technical leadership, and the ability to balance new product development with ongoing manufacturing and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in an engineering design environment
• Technical understanding of manufacturing processes including sheetmetal, welding, injection molding, extrusion, and casting
• Experience with consumer products (electro-mechanical) design and manufacturing a plus.
• Knowledge of BOMs and ECOs
• Self-motivated, creative, and capable of handling and prioritizing multiple projects
• Collaborative working style that thrives in a cross-functional team
• Track record of high achievement, meeting/exceeding goals, and driving results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for customer satisfaction and success
• Proficient with SolidWorks (or other 3D parametric modeling software)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Must be able to travel as required (less than 10%, including possible international travel)
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of mechanical components, subsystems, and systems for new and existing products
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address technical issues with robust, manufacturable solutions
• Balance new product development with manufacturing and product support
• Design components that are injection molded, diecast, and other processes
• Develop validation plans with Testing, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams
• Facilitate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews
• Collaborate with suppliers on documentation, reviews, and releases
• Support creation of product requirements and engineering specifications
• Ensure designs meet functional requirements and regulatory standards
• Participate in design reviews and stay current with new design and material development practices
• Coordinate prototyping and testing activities to verify design expectations
• Support site specific QMS initiatives for continuous process improvement
