Job summary

SERES is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Milpitas, CA to lead the design, analysis, and validation of advanced mechanical systems from concept through production. The role requires strong ANSYS FEA expertise, CATIA CAD skills, and fluent English and Chinese to collaborate across global teams.

You will drive material selection, manufacturability, and design for test, mentor engineers, and coordinate with suppliers and internal groups. Onsite work is required at our Milpitas office.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in mechanical design.
• Expertise in ANSYS FEA, including meshing, solver setup, and validation.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings; CATIA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanics of materials, GD&T, and manufacturability.
• Ability to communicate engineering decisions across teams; fluent in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of mechanical components and assemblies balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Create and review 3D models and drawings using CATIA or equivalent CAD; apply GD&T.
• Perform ANSYS FEA for structural and modal analyses; set up materials and loads.
• Verify results with calculations and validate against tests; document assumptions.
• Select materials and processes to improve quality and reduce cost.
• Lead prototype builds, test planning, validation, and root-cause investigations.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, coordinate with suppliers and teams.
