Job summary

SERES AUTO_USA seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and validate advanced mechanical systems. You will create 3D models and 2D drawings, apply GD&T, and support prototyping and testing as products move from concept to production.

The position is onsite in Milpitas, CA, with regular in-person attendance and opportunities to grow into increasing responsibilities within a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with ≥3 years of experience.
• Hands-on 3D CAD modeling and drawing production; CATIA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D part and assembly models and 2D drawings using CATIA or equivalent CAD.
• Apply GD&T and support tolerance analysis to ensure fit, function, and assembly.
• Support material selection and manufacturability with other teams.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and assist with mechanical analysis.
• Assist prototyping, testing, validation, and document results.
• Participate in design reviews and maintain accurate drawings and documentation.

This position is based onsite at our Milpitas, CA office and requires regular in-person attendance.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D part and assembly models and 2D engineering drawings using CATIA or an equivalent CAD platform.
• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and support tolerance analysis to ensure fit, function, and assembly requirements.
• Support material selection and design for manufacturability and assembly in collaboration with manufacturing and other engineering teams.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and support mechanical analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with prototype builds, test setup, design validation, and troubleshooting; document results and recommend improvements.
• Participate in design reviews and maintain accurate drawings and technical documentation throughout product development.
  

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Hands‑on experience with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings; CATIA preferred, with equivalent CAD experience considered.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and mechanics of materials, with familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and learn from feedback.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands‑on mechanical design experience.
• Practical experience with prototyping, mechanical testing, troubleshooting, and design for manufacturability.
  

Pay Range: $80,000- $120,000 per year. The actual base salary offered will depend on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job-related considerations. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits.
