Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Colorado to lead complex mechanical projects, guide design and analyses, and mentor junior engineers. This role involves working in a hybrid environment with a focus on high-performance systems for ISR, aviation and C4ISR programs.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform simulations, review technical reports, and ensure design integrity while supporting project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience; advanced degrees may substitute.
• Expert understanding of design principles and CAD software.
• Experience with MBSE tools and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team and manage complex mechanical engineering projects.
• Provide expert guidance on the design and development of mechanical systems.
• Perform high-level analyses and simulations for optimal performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and prepare technical documentation.
