Job summary

Nomad Global Communication Solutions seeks a Mechanical Engineer IV – Intermodal Container to drive design from concept through production with focus on ISO 830 terminology and container systems.

You will apply DFMA, perform FEA, and ensure manufacturability and regulatory compliance while collaborating with cross‑functional teams across Nomad platforms. A BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET) and 8–12+ years of experience are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience designing/intermodal containers; ISO 830 vocabulary familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support mechanical systems for Nomad platforms.
• Create CAD documentation for projects including top-level assemblies and parts.
• Use FEA to analyze designs and validate against loads and environmental conditions.
• Lead design reviews, ensure manufacturability, and coordinate with Production and QA teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines and suppliers.
• Track project hours and travel as needed.
