Job summary

Fourier is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and integration of our commercial hydrogen production systems. You will own mechanical subsystems from concept to production, ensuring safe enclosure packaging and robust thermal management in collaboration with electrical teams.

Responsibilities include CAD leadership, CFD/FEA support, ICDs, BoP documentation, and hands-on validation of reliability and safety.

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
6+ years of relevant experience in commercial product design and development.
Strong fundamentals in statics, mechanics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.

Responsibilities

Lead concept development and design trades for mechanical subsystems from water purification through post-production H2 purification.
Own 3D CAD design of complex parts and assemblies (SolidWorks or equivalent).
Review P&IDs and mechanical documentation; perform first-principles calculations for sizing and performance.
Collaborate with electrical teams to integrate HV/LV systems into enclosures; ensure thermal management and safety compliance.
Define ICDs between mechanical and electrical subsystems; promote DFM and DFA from concept to production.
Create and maintain BoP docs, BOMs, and FMEAs; manage gas and water piping systems; lead validation activities.
