Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and improve products and components, fabricate and test prototypes, and ensure product integrity for manufacture and distribution. The role involves coordinating with multiple functional groups and overseeing field tests to gather feedback and drive improvements.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred), 5–8+ years in product design within manufacturing, and 1–3+ years HVAC or HVLS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree a plus.
• 5–8+ years of engineering experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
• 1–3+ years HVAC or airflow experience for HVLS Fans engineering positions.
• Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects.
• Advanced/Intermediate experience with industry drafting and CAD standards.
• Experience in product design, GD&T using CATIA CAD tools, and DFMEA.
• Hands-on product experience with problem recognition and countermeasure implementation.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and improves new and existing products and components.
• Plans, designs, and develops products or components in projects assigned; prepares layouts, drawings and schematics.
• Directs prototype fabrication and testing; analyzes test data to verify design meets specs.
• Collaborates with research, sales, and engineering to clarify issues and commercialize designs.
• Reviews production for quality and cost targets; uses CAD software for engineering tasks.
• Oversees field test installations and gathers customer feedback for improvements.
• Creates product documentation and updates manuals to reflect changes.
