CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC and plumbing to advance project leadership and innovative, sustainable solutions. The role supports a hybrid work model with potential office bases across multiple U.S. locations and occasional travel.

The candidate will design and review systems, mentor junior staff, contribute to technical papers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value to clients and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Technology or related discipline.
• EIT certification or FE exam completion within 18 months of hire.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsabilités

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems including master planning, feasibility studies, and mechanical systems such as co-generation.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and firm policies.
• Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
• Develop technical papers and design documentation for knowledge management and publications.
• Attend industry conferences; collaborate with sales to maximize outreach and engagement.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff; supervise project work as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
