Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC and plumbing expertise to advance to project leadership. The role offers a hybrid work environment and can be based in our Boston, MA; Fairfax, VA; Pittsburgh, PA; Maitland, FL; Raleigh, NC; or Dallas, TX offices.

You will design systems, review compliance with regulations, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical papers while collaborating with sales and attending industry conferences to broaden the firm’s reach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related discipline required.
• EIT or FE certification within 18 months of hire or promotion.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems incl. master planning, feasibility studies, and mechanical systems.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Perform site reviews and update design requirements as needed.
• Develop technical design documentation and white papers for knowledge management.
• Attend conferences to promote CDM Smith’s products and services and collaborate with sales.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and supervise project work as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
