CDM Smith is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with HVAC and plumbing expertise to advance their projects from master planning to detailed design. This role offers hybrid work options and can be based in multiple US offices.

You will lead design efforts, ensure code compliance, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with sales to extend client engagement. The position emphasizes sustainable design, energy efficiency and high-quality technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• FE/EIT certification within 18 months or equivalent.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic/international travel as duties require.
• Equivalent additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsabilités

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems, including master planning, feasibility studies and mechanical systems.
• Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency into projects per client requirements.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Conduct site reviews and update design requirements based on location specs.
• Develop technical papers and designs for publication and KT management.
• Attend industry conferences and collaborate with sales for outreach.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise project work as needed.
