Job summary

TDIndustries is seeking a highly technical Mechanical Engineer III or IV to support commercial construction projects during preconstruction and construction phases. This role is ideal for an experienced consulting engineer or design-build engineer who enjoys deep technical work, problem solving, and design excellence rather than formal people management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience for Engineer III; 10–15+ years for Engineer IV.
Strong HVAC and plumbing system design knowledge.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial facilities from concept through construction.
Provide technical engineering support during design-build projects, including constructability reviews and recommendations.
Perform advanced calculations (loads, hydronics, energy analysis) and ensure code compliance.
Review drawings for impacts to mechanical systems and coordinate solutions across disciplines.
Mentor designers and EITs in an informal capacity while developing construction documents and submittals.
