icon Mechanical is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer for its CSG team in Chesterfield, MO. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC design and a strong background in piping systems.

Responsibilities include load calculations, equipment layouts, and development of drawings using Revit and AutoCAD. Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and knowledge of HVAC, piping, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design, drafting, and coordination.
• Estimating knowledge and experience is a plus — we will train the right candidate.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and time management and organizational skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to present oneself in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Performing heating and cooling load calculations to support HVAC system design, equipment selection, and ductwork sizing on design-build, plan-spec, and retrofit projects.
• Developing equipment layouts and ductwork designs for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
• Producing and revising design and coordination drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and addenda to ensure engineered solutions meet design intent, code requirements, and owner expectations.
• Coordinating with project managers, field teams, and other trades to support a smooth transition from design to construction.
• Supporting value engineering efforts and evaluating design alternatives during preconstruction.
• Assisting with equipment selection, submittal review, and coordination with vendors and manufacturers’ representatives.
