Job summary

Kimmel Associates is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design of HVAC, boiler, and chiller plant systems for commercial and institutional facilities in the United States. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction, ensuring energy efficiency, code compliance, and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in HVAC/mechanical design, PE licensure preferred, and proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and TRACE 700. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HVAC/mechanical design experience in a consulting or MEP environment.
• Strong boiler/chiller plant design experience for commercial projects.
• Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC, plumbing, boiler, and chiller plant system designs for commercial/institutional projects.
• Develop conceptual and detailed engineering solutions focusing on performance and cost.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical work for quality.
• Collaborate with PMs, architects, and electrical engineers across phases.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and budgets.
