Job summary

Fairfax County Park Authority is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Engineer IV) to oversee HVAC and Building Automation Systems across Park Authority facilities. The role requires a PE license and experience in design, evaluation, and contract administration for large projects.

Ideal candidates will coordinate with engineers, contractors, and county agencies, prepare technical reports, and participate in public meetings. A signing bonus is offered for new hires.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; four years of professional experience in the appropriate field.
• Virginia PE license is required.
• Experience with HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Knowledge of Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and local standards.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review designs and plans for impacts on county facilities and operations.
• Lead engineering evaluations for HVAC and BAS and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and consultants; oversee projects to completion.
• Prepare technical documents, reports, SOPs, and board materials.
• Represent the park authority in multi-agency meetings and inspections.
