Job summary

Career Collective is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial building projects. You will develop layouts, sizing, and equipment selections and coordinate BIM/Revit drawings with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing mechanical systems for commercial or building projects.
• Experience with HVAC design; plumbing and fire protection experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Revit/BIM and other mechanical design software.
• Knowledge of applicable building and mechanical codes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems for building projects.
• Develop cost-effective system layouts, sizing, and equipment selections.
• Create and coordinate BIM/Revit drawings with other disciplines.
• Support projects through schematic design, design development, permitting, and construction documents.
• Perform site visits, review shop drawings, and assist with punch lists during construction.
• Help ensure projects meet applicable building codes and client requirements.
• Work directly with clients, architects, contractors, code officials, and other project partners.
• Help define project scope and identify potential changes or issues before they impact the project.
• Provide guidance and support to junior mechanical designers and engineers.
