Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead healthcare project designs from inception through completion. This role requires directing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, coordinating with multi‑discipline teams, and guiding field and construction activities in Charleston, SC.

Applicants should have 10+ years in mechanical engineering, a PE license, and proficiency in Revit and HVAC tools. Travel to sites and client meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or an Architectural Engineering Degree.
• PE, registered in South Carolina and other states as required.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for healthcare projects.

Responsibilities

• Owns complex mechanical projects from start to finish.
• Lead mechanical design for healthcare projects, from concept to completion.
• Manage RFI’s, submittals, site visits and construction observation.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross‑discipline teams.
