Our leading engineering firm is seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers with specialized expertise in healthcare facility design to join our teams in Orlando, FL and Dallas/Houston, TX (two positions available). These positions require licensed Professional Engineers (PE) with 12-15+ years of experience in the A/E environment, with particular focus on healthcare projects. The ideal candidates will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to staff while ensuring total quality of all mechanical engineering efforts.
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for the mechanical discipline, overseeing quality of all designs and maintaining company goals, policies, and procedures. Your responsibilities will include managing assigned staff, project workload allocation, proposal , service pricing, and mentoring junior engineers. You'll develop positive client relationships, ensure client satisfaction, and coordinate efforts between disciplines to foster a team approach to project completion. In the absence of the Director, you may serve as Operations Manager overseeing business unit operations.
Your core activities will encompass project management (developing proposals, project plans, and managing deliverables), financial management (overseeing billing and profitability), design leadership (coordinating mechanical systems between disciplines and jurisdictions), quality assurance, marketing support, continuing education, and human resource management. You'll be expected to maintain client relationships, support company marketing efforts, conduct technical interviews, mentor junior staff, and participate in professional organizations. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, demonstrates initiative and decisiveness, builds collaborative relationships, and maintains personal credibility with both clients and colleagues.
Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, PE license required, 12-15+ years of experience in A/E environment with healthcare focus, demonstrated success in managing projects, comprehensive mechanical engineering expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems, and knowledge of parallel fields. Strong competencies in empowering others, fostering teamwork, developing staff, managing performance, communication, building collaborative relationships, analytical thinking, and technical expertise are essential for success in this role.
