Job summary

Eastman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide innovative technical support across global sites and the technology organization. You will apply engineering skills to a diverse portfolio, from rapid-turnaround tasks to large-scale strategic projects, with a strong commitment to safety and sustainability.

You will collaborate with maintenance, development, and manufacturing teams to drive production reliability and maintenance objectives, manage projects, and develop designs.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree required.
• Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency with engineering tools: laser scanning, SolidWorks, MicroStation, P&IDs, Microsoft Suite.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Strong engineering process mindset, technical proficiency and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with maintenance, development, and manufacturing teams to assist the operating unit in achieving its production, reliability, and maintenance objectives; manage a diverse workload and engineering projects from start to finish.
• Provide project management and engineering support for projects.
• Generate improvement ideas and designs.
• Summarize issues and resolution plans for high-level management review.
• Be self-driven and complete projects in various execution environments, inside and outside the Kingsport site.
• Work in both design office and operating plant environments.
