Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Senior Mechanical Associate in its Forensics Practice in Miami. You will guide technical direction, mentor teams, and partner with clients to drive strategic outcomes and high-impact results.

This role requires senior-level leadership, extensive mechanical experience, and PE licensure where applicable. You will lead complex forensic projects, shape proposals, and help grow the firm’s market presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE licensure preferred or required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with leadership of complex projects.
• Advanced problem-solving, technical judgment, and subject-matter expertise.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision on forensic projects and define best-in-class solutions.
• Serve as primary client partner, building trusted relationships and strategic impact.
• Lead and grow high-performing teams across staff assignments.
• Drive business development through proposals, thought leadership, and industry engagement.
• Shape firm strategy with business roadmaps and leadership input on opportunities.
• Deepen expertise and grow personal brand to expand firm opportunities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Master's or PhD preferred

Professional Engineer licensure (PE)

10+ years mechanical engineering experience
